The Importance of Spray Painting in Residential House Painting
In both new construction and repaints spray has several applications.
Let's cover new interior work first. Whether the ceiling is textured or flat it is much better to spray rather than to roll, a far better result is achieved.
Doing the trim is not only faster but again a smoother finish is achieved. When doing trim the walls are papered to protect from over spray, failure to do this results in shadows on the finished walls.
Spraying ceilings in a finished home is a little more work. The biggest job is covering everything. The floors and walls must be completely covered before spraying. This can take a whole day of prep and only an hour or less of actual spray time....but the results are worth it.
The exterior is similar in that some surfaces such as stucco or brick are best sprayed, also metal building. When doing stucco we back roll while the paint is still wet to ensure proper coverage. A very even coat is achieved in this way.
